The International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society, Inc. (IFESS) was established to promote the research, application, and understanding of electrical stimulation as it is utilized in the field of medicine through meetings, tutorials, publications, and the exchange of information.
IFESS is directly associated with the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) combining their strengths internationally. In 1999 IFESS and INS officially became sister societies, sharing sessions at every Annual Conference to help accomplish their mutual goals.
One of the major conduits by which the IFESS carries out its mission is by providing a high quality educational program at every Annual Conference. Following the theme From movement to mind – this year the Conference will take place September 21-25, 2008 in Freiburg, GERMANY.
